General Information: Founded in 1990, Nouvel Air takes its history from the work and passion for skydiving of its three founders, Rene Presse, Michel Lemay and Daniel Paquette. It was during the mid-70s, an era when relative work was evolving as a new discipline, that they began their careers in skydiving. Immediately taken with the sport and with aviation, Rene and Michel progressed quickly to complete their private and commercial pilot licenses while Daniel concentrated his energies on 4-way competition. At the beginning of the 80s, after a victory in relative work competition at the Canadian championships, Daniel and Michel became full members of the national team. The hopes instilled in these athletes were not in vain as they won the championships two years in a row (1983 and 1984). Following that they retired from active competition and participated in the production of several films on skydiving, directed by American skydiver Norman Kent. In 1990, they finally decided to open a parachuting school near Montreal to share their experience and passion for skydiving. From this initiative, Nouvel Air has been the most important parachuting club in Canada since 1993, training several thousand new jumpers every year.
