Did you know that skydive Suffolk is back hosting meets for the Virginia Parachute Council?
posted: Aug 5th, 2013 It was in August 2006 when the Virginia Parachute Council held a 4way competition the last time at Skydive Suffolk. DC3 (Christine Bruchac, Christi Meyer, Chris Halsa, Dave Owens, with Tres Waugh on camera) competed with a local lineup that consisted of Jim Burley, John Carlson, Eddie Heady, Mary Miller and Pete Schwartz on camera.
VPC Director Elizabeth Kang now reported that her 4way competitors met again at the same place on the July 27 weekend - seven years later. It was a new duel, this time between Safety Third and the Sky Godlings. Only one competitor attended both meets in 2006 and 2013.

Did you know that the Indoor Cloud League continues to grow?
posted: Aug 3rd, 2013 The Indoor Cloud League competition for the month of July is over, and the Florida Skydiving League group took the first place once again at iFLY Orlando.
It was a very close game though between the Northwest Skydiving League group at iFLY Seattle and Florida in July, and the total score (131 - 112) does not reflect how close it actually was. The Northwest group won four of the five categories where scores and videos were provided for. Florida's lineup in the Rookie AAA Class, with three Pyro4ic members and player coach Brian Johnson, made... (more)

posted: Aug 1st, 2013 Last weekend's leaderboard of the Northern Plains Skydiving League could have been the one of the season opener in May. The attending teams were identical and copied their standings with exactly the same outcome.
Some things were different though. Nick Grillet had prepared the NPSL competitors for the May meet, while Robert Chromy made the trip to Skydive Twin Cities last weekend. There were also some changes in the lineups, and last not least the scores were different, as well - higher.

Did you know that the Joes are not sloppy any longer?
posted: Jul 31st, 2013 The A Class was the only category last weekend that had a complete 6-round overall leaderboard. Teams of the Northwest Skydiving League and in the Czech Republic took advantage of a faster competition draw, which included three sequences with only random formations, and posted new record averages for the year.
Even Czech team Zoonte, 4-time winner on previous A Class overall leaderboards, was finally tired of the 11.0 average and posted a season high 12.5 average last weekend. It was Zoonte's 5th outdoor competition of the 2013 season with the 5th top position on the overall leaderboard.
