Did You Know...

... that the Virginia Parachute Council is back in 4way action?

Up into 2nd place: Dallas Storm
posted Aug 1st, 2012 - The scores from the Virginia Parachute Council completed last weekend's AA Class overall leaderboard, which was the most popular category this time.

The AA Class teams competed at three different locations (Germany, Texas, Virginia) and also completed different numbers of rounds. The overall leaderboard in the AA Class needs a similar adjustment as it was necessary in the AAA Class where the Usual Suspects ended up on the top after six rounds.

Paradox Kassel had the highest meet average after ten rounds but did not have to step back. The German team was also the leader and winner after six rounds, despite a few little differences of the German competition draw. Only the rankings for the 2nd and 3rd place changed. Dallas Storm was two points ahead of 4Motion after Round 6 and earned the 2nd place. Lazy Diamond and Glitter Girls from Texas tied each other in front of the 3-pack from Virginia.

Elizabeth Kang reported from Skydive Orange that the VPC teams last weekend visited from South Carolina (Chester) and Virginia (VSC, Skydive Orange). All three teams shared the Twin Otter together for the six AA Class rounds of the day.

She said that there was even enough time for a 10way jump at the end of the day where almost all 4way competitors joined forces. The VPC teams finished the day with watching all videos together and the award ceremony.

Elizabeth Kang stepped in this year to keep the Virginia Parachute Council going, which is the oldest competition league in the USA. John Meyer, who has been running the league in the past years, was not available for the 2012 season. His wife and VPC helping hand Christi Meyer eventually informed the NSL that Elizabeth Kang would step in to continue the VPC tradition. She also competed last weekend with Eeek.

Holding on to 1st place: Paradox Kassel
The AA Class draw in Germany had one sequence last weekend that was almost identical with the AAA Class competition. AA Class winner Paradox Kassel managed to tie the score of one AAA Class team in Round 2, even though Block 14 (Bipole - Bipole) requires 540 turns compared to the 360 turns in Block 15 (Cat - Cat).

The adjusted AA Class leaderboard now shows a great competition between the two German teams and Dallas Storm for the three top rankings. Then follows a battle that was even more exciting between Lazy Diamond and Glitter Girls who tied each other after six rounds in San Marcos.

A similar battle was going on at Skydive Orange where Vertigo and Eeek tried to stay away from the bottom of the leaderboard. Eeek's zero in Round 2 was probably the painful tie breaker. It was a great AA Class competition last weekend.
