The NSL News provided a live update from the SDC Rhythm XP winter headquarters in Sebastian on 20 February 2013. The update included training videos and a live NSL Talk with the complete new lineup. Only team videographer Alex Bittner was not present.
JaNette Lefkowitz also explained in the interview what she was planning for the 2013 season of the Midwest Skydiving League. Former MWSL Director Alan Butt suggested last year that the SDC Rhythm XP members could probably add new features and more time to one of the oldest leagues in the NSL Network, as the NSL News reported on 17 August 2012.
Alan Butt confirmed later that JaNette and Steve Lefkowitz were motivated to take over the MWSL activities in 2013. He was looking forward to some changes: "It is exciting to imagine the influence Steve and JaNette will in turn have on future MWSL jumpers. Thanks again to everyone who has been involved with the league over the past eleven years. It has been a great experience and I am proud of all the MWSL has accomplished."
MWSL Meet Director Alan Butt
Alan Butt has now the opportunity to come back as a competitor in the league that he helped to build up. He used to train and compete with different lineups before he volunteered his time and efforts for the Midwest Skydiving League. He continued for a while on a lower intensity level and may pick up the pace again, while the SDC Rhythm XP members have now finalized their plans.
JaNette Lefkowitz just posted the meet schedule for the 2013 season, which includes a new host, Skydive Midwest. She had collected a lot of feedback from MWSL teams and competitors throughout the winter break. Over 50 MWSL participants provided information and data that she could use to make a plan for the 2013 season.
The video of the NSL Talk in Sebastian included some of the details that she has now officially announced for the MWSL community.
"We have finalized the dates for the MWSL 2013 season! I am excited to announce that we will have five meets this season at Chicagoland Skydiving Center, Skydive Chicago, and introducing Skydive Midwest to the MWSL circuit too!
All meets will have a member of Rhythm as meet coach available to all competitors during the meet. Prizes will be awarded based on meet and season performance.
In addition, we will be introducing a number of new 'traditions', including a participants' big-way after the meet, socials events after the meet, and FS coaching and organized events the day after the meet. Also, we will be starting a pickup team network to help people of ANY skill level get together for a fun pickup meet experience. More details to follow."
