Did You Know...

... that Slovenia and Austria combined their national championships this year?

Vesce with Joey Jones at the World Cup 2013
posted Sep 7th, 2013 - Teams from Slovenia and Austria joined forces this year to hold their national championships. Slovenj Gradec was the host, and the competition took place on August 21 - 25. One of the teams from Slovenia had just completed nine rounds at the World Cup 2013 in Banja Luka, which is not too far away from Slovenia.

Coach Joey Jones was with Team Vesce in Banja Luka where the team collected their first international meet experiences. It was not the first time this year though that Vesce appeared on the NSL leaderboard. The Slovenian team had also attended the July meet of the Czech Republic Skydiving League in Prostejov after a training camp with Joey Jones.

Training with coach Joey Jones and the meet experiences are beginning to show, as Vesce has increased the meet averages (3.5 - 6.2 - 8.4) at each event so far.

New Sky Dragons 2013 lineup in Bedford
Vesce member Saso Tepina reported from Slovenia that his team had bad and good luck at the same time at the national championships. Point Kristina Jeric could not continue after a bad landing in Round 3.

Vesce was so fortunate that former Sky Dragons member Aljaz Mavric was at the competition site as a videographer for another team. However, he was available to step in. The meet organizers agreed with using the substitute, and Vesce could continue.

Aljaz Mavric helped Vesce to improve the meet average once again, and coach Joey Jones was satisfied with the encouraging new numbers.
