Did You Know...

... that five of the six Indoor Cloud League groups claimed at least one highscore?

SkyVenture Montreal's AAA Class lineup in January
posted Feb 3rd, 2014 - The last three submissions of scores and videos for the January sequences of the Indoor Cloud League came from SkyVenture Montreal, host of the Canadian Indoor Championship 2014 in March this year.

Melanie L-Guerin, Jennyfer Caron, Monika Wittmer and Karyna Dallaire scored 21 points in the AAA Class, which tied the Skydive Arena's highscore for January, posted by Bad Boyz, the national 4way team of the Czech Republic. The Canadian team Impulsion (Luc De La Chevrotière, Celine Gagnon, Vicki Gauthier, Mathieu Ouellett) added the 19-pointer for the AA Class sequence, and team 4Fun (Julie Joanette, Maite Jaquin, Pierre Ostiguy, Danniele BElliveau) collected 16 points in the A Class.

Hummingbird's 23-pointer in the Rookie A Class (Luc Geoffroy, Veronique Guay, Manon Corbeil, Roger Theriault) was posted earlier last month and made it a total of 79 points for the Canadian group at SkyVenture Montreal for January.

23 ICL points in the Rookie A Class: Hummingbirds
The Canadian scores in four of the six ICL categories combined for the highest total that SkyVenture Montreal has collected in the wind tunnel's three months of participation. SkyVenture Montreal started with a 6th place in November 2013 and placed 5th with 59 points in December last year. The 79 points for January 2014 is the new record score and a good starting point for the 2014 Indoor Cloud League season.

The Sun Path Products NSL News reported earlier that the competition in this new league has become much tighter. In fact, Skydive Arena and iFLY Seattle finished tied in 1st place in January 2014, and iFLY Orlando was only four points behind at the end of the month.

There is more evidence that no Indoor Cloud League group might be able to run away from the rest of the field any longer.

16 ICL points in the A Class: 4Fun
Fact is also that five of the currently six ICL groups claimed or tied at least one highscore for any of the six sequences. Only SkyVenture New Hampshire had a slow month, which was probably caused by organizer Brian Touhey's recent shoulder injury. The Indoor Skyfest at SkyVenture New Hampshire also took most of last month's attention in Manchester.

The Czech group at the Skydive Arena in Prague claimed the highscores in three categories, while each of the other four groups won only once. It was no surprise that the Czech total won the 1st place. On the other hand, iFLY Seattle is a good example for good team work.

Deb Correia's group won only the Rookie AA Class with a 29-pointer. However, the other lineups collected enough points across the leaderboard to tie the Czech total of 129 points. iFLY Orlando was also very consistent with four 19-pointers in the four traditional NSL categories. January was the best month in ICL history, and the sequences for February 2014 are posted.
