NSL News Coverage of the FAI Indoor World Cup 2024

Did You Know...

... that iFLY Orlando added 11 points to the Indoor Cloud League total?

Bad Boys at iFLY Austin
posted Nov 14th, 2014 - The November competition for the top spot of the Indoor Cloud League leaderboard continues while two of the Czech teams (Bad Boys, HF Chicks) compete at the FAI World Cup of Indoor Skydiving 2014 in Austin, Texas.

The Bad Boys are in 1st place of eight teams in the Open Class competition after four rounds with a 19.0 average. Aerokart Deep Blue, 4-way Women's world champions of 2010, are scoring significantly higher (22.0) but have their own FAI leaderboatd with two teams.

In the meantime, the Florida ICL group met again at iFLY Orlando on Thursday night and added 11 points to the previous total. The Florida lead is now up to 20 points, and Czech leader Jan Klapka will have his hands full after coming back from iFLY Austin.

The same lineup that was on the leaderboard for iFLY Orlando in the AAA and AA categories (Gilles Dutrisac, Hal Spence, Sebastian Jimenez, Kurt Gaebel) improved their previous scores by a total of five points, and Rookie Class team DeLand Aurai added six points for the Rookie AAA Class sequence.

The Bad Boys are still far ahead of the iFLY Orlando scores, however, each additional point counts for the total of the whole group.

Cathy Luo was back in the DeLand Aurai lineup after a motorcycle accident last month. She recovered very quickly and was eager to begin her comeback with the indoor competition. She and Alix Raymond are two of the original Aurai members. Rodrigo Espinosa and Chris Dunbar completed this week's lineup.

The separate iFLY Orlando leaderboard is showing once again the internal competition between five different lineups on Thursday night. Four A/AA Class competitors (Sebastian Jimenez, Jim Prochaska, Steve Hubbard, John Stares), former members of four different Florida teams (Zunday, DeLand DeLand, DeLand Slide, Zeus) took on the AAA and AA sequences for November, as well.

Three other lineups went through the remaining four sequences (A - Rookie AAA - Rookie AA - Rookie A) where DeLand Aurai dominated.

New 4-way competitors Shanise Dietels and Bob Palatka had only performed Rookie A Class sequences after their 1-on-1 training at previous FSL Tunnel Kickers. Now they performed the sequences of the next three categories and were in striking distance of the opposing lineup with Amer Kassas, Chris Rhodes, Jessica Strayer and player coach Gilles Dutrisac. The current iFLY Orlando total of 136 points is identical with the October result, which won the 1st place by two points over the Hurricane Factory...
