Did You Know...

... that Deep Blue results in Austin also show the potential of the new French lineup?

Aerokart Deep Blue at iFLY Austin
posted Nov 20th, 2014 - The Sun Path Products NSL News reported on 15 November 2014 that three of the original Aerokart Deep Blue members (Amelie Tirman, Sophie Deremaux, Francoise Simons-Hamouchi) competed at the FAI World Cup of Indoor Skydiving and finished on top of the combined AAA Class leaderboard.

Clementine Le Bohec, new member of the French national team in 4-way Women, was flying in Berangere Duplouy's center inside slot.

The story featured four of the competition rounds at iFLY Austin, and the new video is now showing all rounds.

The Deep Blue performance did not only show how competitive the French world champions of 2010 still are.

It also provided an idea of the level that the new French national lineup in this category can be expected to start off from.

Two world champions coming back: Sophia Pecout, Christine Malnis in Prostejov
The Sun Path Products NSL News story on 26 October 2014 had introduced the new French lineup in 4-way Women. Two reigning world champions of the FAI World Championship of Formation Skydiving 2014 (Christine Malnis, Sophia Pecout) are coming back for the next two years, Anais Maillet and Clementine Le Bohec are the new members.

The same story included a brief history of the two new members and gave the impression that French coach Marin Ferre will have "his hands full" to catch up with the Golden Knights who are going into the team's 5th year with the same lineup.

The latest results of Aerokart Deep Blue in Austin, with center inside Clementine Le Bohec, may change this picture.

The 24.7 average is not only significantly higher than the last Deep Blue reunion average (23.6) at the World Challenge 2013 with the original lineup. It also matches exactly the average that the Aerodyne French Girls posted at the World Challenge 2014 before winning the gold medals in Prostejov.

Black eye after Block 8: Clementine Le Bohec
Clementine Le Bohec, in the driver's seat for the new French national team in 4-way Women, is obviously very well prepared for the job. She had Amelie Tirman, double world champion of 2010 and 2012, as her rear piece partner for Deep Blue.

Amelie Tirman was not surprised by Clementine Le Bohec's performance after coaching her B-Team for two years in France:

"It was super easy to fly with her her, exactly the way I like it!"

Amelie Tirman said that Deep Blue trained two hours in France before the competition. However, Laurence Herve flew for Francoise Simons-Hamouchi, and the complete Austin lineup trained only 30 minutes at the competition site.

It was a tough training and competition for the new center inside, as she was hit by a knee during Block 8 (Canadian T - Canadian T) in training and had a black eye throughout her visit in Austin.

Amelie Tirman was happy with the 24.7 average, which would officially be the new FAI world record. However, she thinks that it may not stand for very long.

New team members: Clementine Le Bohec and Anais Maillet in Prostejov
The Deep Blue (2010) and Deep Blue Defenders (2012) world champion tail was also coaching the other new team member two years ago and knows her well.

Anais Maillet was in the French B-Team before she was selected for the French national 8-way team in 2013 and 2014.

Amelie Tirman said that the 8-way training might have slowed her down a bit. However, she was at a 16-average level two years ago, which was a great foundation. She has no doubt that Anais Maillet will be able to match the pace of the three other French Girls:

"I think the new 4-way female team is going to show super good results. Clementine is ready as we could see this weekend."

Somebody else was not surprised after the scores in Austin. Clementine Le Bohec's boyfriend Dennis Praet simply said that "she is just a natural and talented flyer, learns super fast and progresses like crazy". He said that she could already "fly like the best" when he met her...
