2nd place for SDC Rhemix after 6-round indoor battle
posted Nov 23rd, 2014 - The next Dubai Cup is coming up soon, and three participants at the NSL Championship 2014 will travel to the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday. JaNette and Steve Lefkowitz visited DeLand with their player-coach team of the Midwest Skydiving League, SDC Rhemix, and SDC Rhythm XP videographer Thad Parker is also in the travel group on the way to Dubai.

SDC Rhemix completed three competition rounds on Friday, together with a few other teams, before bad weather kept all teams on the ground on Saturday.

Quick arrangements with iFLY Orlando allowed all teams to compete in the 12-feet flying chamber instead, where nine teams completed a 6-round meet on Saturday evening. The Sun Path Products NSL News will follow up soon with a more detailed report of the indoor competition.

The weather on Sunday was not much better, and the NSL medals and trophies were handed out according to the standings on Friday evening, with an exception in the AA Class.

The three visiting teams from Skydive City were scheduled to begin with their competition jumps on Saturday morning, and they had no opportunity to catch up with SDC Rhemix. Meet management and teams agreed to use the indoor scores to determine the winner if there were no other outdoor rounds on Sunday.

ZHills TranZend, with player coach Sally Hathaway filling the center inside slot for Rebecca Stares, ran away with highscores in all six rounds. However, there was an exciting AA Class battle for the 2nd place, with SDC Rhemix and Minivan going tied into the last round. Rhemix won Round 6 by two points and took the NSL silver medals back to the Midwest Skydiving League.

The SDC Rhemix appearance in DeLand offered the Sun Path Products NSL News an opportunity for an update by the three SDC Rhythm XP members. Thad Parker, JaNette and Steve Lefkowitz are looking forward to competing in Dubai next. They will meet the new 4-way world champions with their new lineup, NMP-PCH Hayabusa, and the bronze medal winners from Canada, Evolution.

JaNette and Steve Lefkowitz also talked about their current situation in the USA after this year's national championships. They said that they are very happy with the progression of the team and its direction.

Rhythm videographer Thad Parker was not filming JaNette and Steve Lefkowitz with SDC Rhemix. He had Rookie Class team Instruction Not Included of the Southern Skydiving League in his camera focus. Then he also joined the indoor competition with two other fellow videographers, plus SDC FurtheranZe XP member Michael Hare for a fun night with the Vidiots. He said that SDC Rhythm XP has a very unique team atmosphere: "The positive attitude is a life lesson for me."
