Did You Know...

... that DeLand 3D concluded the 2014 Rookie Class season with a 20.8 indoor average?

Awards at the NSL Outdoor Championship 2014
posted Nov 27th, 2014 - The Sun Path Products NSL News reported on 22 November 2014 that the teams at the NSL Championship 2014 were not very fortunate with the weather situation and introduced team Foxtrot's very interesting lineup.

The story on 23 November 2014 followed up with NSL Talk with SDC Rhythm XP members Janette and Steve Lefkowitz and team videographer Thad Parker who all participated in the NSL event.

The story explained that the missing part of the outdoor competition was quickly turned into an indoor meet at iFLY Orlando when the weather situation did not show any signs of improvement on Saturday. All teams, with one exception, met at iFLY Orlando in the afternoon and completed a 6-round competition in three NSL categories (AAA - AA - Rookie).

Scores at the NSL Indoor Championship 2014
SDC FurtheranZe XP was not prepared to compete in iFLY Orlando's 12-feet flying chamber and skipped the indoor meet. However, team member Michael Hare joined forces with three of the outdoor videographers (Ben King, Thad Parker, Aaron Stocum) and formed the Vidiots for plenty of tunnel fun, as the video with all competition rounds shows.

The Zunday lineup changed, too, and the new indoor lineup, with Alix Raymond for Gary Fox, competed under Minivan.

Z-Hills TranZend, with player coach Sally Hathaway in the lineup, was out of reach for Rhemix and Minivan, however, it turned out to become a great race for the 2nd place in the AA Class between the two teams who were tied in 2nd place going into the last round.

Rookie Class champion DeLand 3D
Four teams competed in the Rookie Class and were too far away from each other for a serious battle. DeLand 3D finished the team's first year of 4-way competition with a very impressive 20.8 average.

DeLand 3D was the highest scoring Rookie Class team in the USA this year after attending five outdoor meets of the Florida Skydiving League and before attending the NSL Championship. The team's 11.0 average after three outdoor rounds on Friday and the 20.8 indoor average after the additional six indoor rounds was a great way for DeLand 3D to leave the Rookie Class behind.

Player coach Robert Chromy reported that his team is now making plans to enter the A Class competition in 2015. New 4-way team Zimba in 2nd place is also planning for 2015, and Instructions Not Included of the Southern Skydiving League will come back next year, as well.
