posted Feb 19th, 2015 - Niklas Hemlin mentioned the Valentine's Meet during the NSL Talk on 17 February 2015, and the Sun Path Products NSL News promised to follow up with scores and more information.

The meet was completed last weekend, with eight teams competing in the AA/Intermediate Class.

All current Arizona Airspeed members participated as player coaches, except for Thomas Hughes who is still recovering from the broken hand that he suffered at the bicycle accident on the day before the start of the Wind Games.

Niklas Hemlin and Chris Farina each had two lineups, and Thiago Gomes guided another team through the 6-round meet.

Airspeed videographer Justin Price was filming several teams, and former Airspeed member Mark Kirkby, 4-way world champion of 2012, supported the meet as a player coach, as well.

Only two of the eight teams did not have an Airspeed member in the lineup, one of them visitng from the Northern Plains Skydiving League, Grippin Donuts.

Mark Kirkby's team Apex had probably the most experienced 4-way lineup and won with a 14.8 average.

Jonathan Perl and Amy Haas competed with Apex at the USPA Nationals 2014 and finished with a 10.6 average in the AAA/Advanced Class. Gary Haas was filming Apex last year and last weekend.

Will Monk placed 5th with the Blue Skies Action Squad last year in the AA/Intermediate Class. The team's 10.4 meet average was in medal contention, and Will Monk ended up only four points behind the USPA bronze medals.

Mark Kirkby put the Apex and Blue Sky Action Squad pieces together and won the 1st place without any serious competition from his former Airspeed team mates.

The second team without any Airspeed members was Defiance in 2nd place.

Chris and Joe Howard, John Lyman, Paul Marstall, with Brianne Thompson on camera, left Half-n-Half with two Airspeed members (Niklas Hemlin, Chris Farina) behind by eleven points.

Grippin Donuts, also without any Airspeed members, ended up on the bottom of the AA Class leaderboard. The NPSL team competed in the Rookie Class last year where they attended three meets in the Northern Plains.

The Valentine's Meet had only the AA Class for all teams, and Grippin Donuts had to deal with several new blocks.

In fact, the team had only performed sequences with Random Formations so far. The 6-pointer in Round 2, with Block 19 in the sequence, was still the highest score for a single round in the short team career.
