NSL News Coverage of the FAI Indoor World Cup 2024

Did You Know...

... that 13-year old Yannick Bisson mastered five memory sequences with a 20.1 average?

21.9 average: New Fuzion lineup
posted Mar 26th, 2015 - The Canadian 4-way indoor teams completed their eight meet rounds on Sunday last weekend, and Parachute Montreal Fuzion won the AAA Class competition of the 3rd Canadian Indoor Skydiving Championship 2015 with a 21.9 average.

It was not the team's highest indoor average, which was posted by the 2014 lineup (Janylene Breton, Gabrielle Prevost, Marie-Eve Dallaire, Kassandra Gagnon - 23.6) at the same event in Montreal. Last year's Fuzion lineup finished later in 4th place at the FAI World Championship of Formation Skydiving 2014, with new member Valerie Bisson.

The world's other medal contenders in 4-way Women will have to keep an eye on the new Fuzion lineup, as well. The 21.9 average is the first result with the new lineup and Renee Point in the Point slot. The video of all competition rounds is showing the team's fast pace that promises a lot of scoring potential.

Parachute Montreal Fuzion in action
4Astrophe gave Fuzion probably more competition than the national team in 4-way Women might have expected. Valerie Bisson's younger brother Yannick (13, going on 14 in May) and her father Richard tried to get as close as possible to Fuzion and managed to tie the highscore for a round twice.

4Astrophe's Bisson front piece (Richard Outside Center - Yannick Point) was supported by a very strong rear piece with Inside Center Michel Lemay and Katie Woods in the Tail slot. It was Yannick Bisson's first competition in the AAA Class, and he posted a very impressive 20.1 average.

4Astrophe had posted several AAA Class scores for SkyVenture Montreal at the Indoor Cloud League events before. However, a real 8-round competition is a different challenge.

Five memory sequences: Yannick Bisson and father Richard
13-year old Yannick Bisson had to master memory in five of the eight rounds, together with his father Richard. The 20.1 average becomes even more impressive considering the challenging circumstances for the front piece.

The Sun Path Products NSL News could not find a 4-way AAA Class competitor as young as Yannick Bisson in the archives. There have been other very young 4-way competitors in other previous competitions, however, they attended meets only in the lower categories, so far.

There were also two A Class teams with youngsters at the Canadian Indoor Championships (Scared Chuteless, Air Devils), and the Sun Path Products NSL News will feature the competition videos of the new 4-way generation in Canada very soon.
