Did You Know...

... that the first 2015 showdown of the best UK teams begins this Saturday?

Vision 99 at Bodyflight Bedford
posted Mar 30th, 2015 - The World Challenge 2015 will once again offer insights of the situation in the United Kingdom at the beginning of the important 2015 season. The winner of this year's national championships will compete as UK's national 4-way team at the Mondial 2016 in the USA, and the best female lineup qualifies for the 4-way Women competition at Skydive Chicago.

This year's AAA/Open Class field at Bodyflight Bedford includes the two national top contenders in 2014 (Voodoo, Vision 99) and two other UK teams (Eclipse, Anti Matter) in the AAA/Open Class who had competed at the World Challenge a year ago. Three additional AAA Class teams (Equal Pay 4 Women, Co-Motion, Bodyflight Aero) posted scores on the AA Class leaderboard of the World Challenge 2014 and have moved up.

Funnel Vision and Entropy are both coming back in the AAA Class after competing in the AA Class at the UK Nationals 2014. Several additional UK teams (ACM, Left Shark Squad, Skyfool, Ninja Swans, Quasar, Whoosh!) include team members of other former AAA Class teams in new lineups with new team names.

Vision 99 at Skydive Dubai
Voodoo is the reigning British 4-way champion in 4-way Open, while Vision 99 was the national team in this category at the FAI World Championship of Formation Skydiving 2014. UK's national team in 4-way Women (Kaizen) has disbanded, and the situation in this category is open, as the Sun Path Products NSL News explained on 22 March 2015.

National team Vision 99 has been outscored by Voodoo at each meet that both teams have attended in the past two years. However, Vision 99 moved closer at the Bodyflight Revenge and would like to continue with the same status and compete for the United Kingdom at the Mondial 2016. Three Voodoo members competed for South Africa at world meets between 2003 and 2012 and would like to continue as the British national 4-way team at the international events.

NMP-PCH Hayabusa coach Gary Smith competes once again for Voodoo this weekend. Liz Matthews tries to win in 4-way Women with Fly Like a Girl. Neither XL nor Full Stop XL or Satori have a lineup for the World Challenge 2015, and the UK battle for the top spot is between Voodoo and Vision 99.

Voodoo's lineup for the World Challenge 2015
Vision 99 will be ready and well prepared for the first UK showdown this year. The 2015 lineup is the same as at the Bodyflight Revenge 2014 (Mike Hayes, Si Guest, Pete Mather, Ady King). Richard Orford will be on camera at the outdoor meets. Vision 99 recently completed an indoor and outdoor training camp in Dubai.

XL members John McIver and Steve Hamilton will be working with the team this year. Steve Hamilton competed for Vision 99 at the World Meet 2014 in Prostejov, when Pete Mather was not available, and knows the team very well.

John McIver won the UK Nationals 2013 with Satori and competed neither with Satori nor with XL in 2014. Now he traveled to Dubai and helped Vision 99 with the preparations for the 2015 season, and the first scores will be posted on Saturday from Bodyflight Bedford.
