posted May 24th, 2013 - The Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship 2013 included a very special reunion that the NSL News has not covered yet.

Thiago Gomes, former SDC Rhythm XP Tail and new Point for Arizona Airspeed, was hanging out a lot with the Brazilian delegation in DeLand.

Anima and Ladies first had made the long trip from Brazil to Florida, following the national team CTR Optimum's trail who attended the same competition in 2012.

Thiago Gomes, born and raised in Brazil, lived there for many years and eventually made it into the national team that competed for Brazil at the World Meet 2001 in Spain.

Anima member Pedro Ushizima was his team mate when Brazil finished in 17th place of 34 teams with a 10.3 average.

The NSL News story on 2 June 2007 provided more information of Thiago Gomes' career before he joined SDC Rhythm XP and Arizona Airspeed.

The World Meet 2001 was Thiago Gomes' first one for the first nation. He moved on to South Africa where he trained and competed with three members of the current national team, Voodoo.

Voodoo members have represented South Africa at world meets ever since the Equanimity project, with Solly Williams and Gary Smith in the lineup, discontinued after bronze medals at the World Meet 1997 in Turkey.

Thiago Gomes had his South African turn at the World Meet 2004 in Croatia.

Voodoo finished in 11th place with a 14.5 average, and Thiago Gomes witnessed how former South African competitors Solly Wiliams and Gary Smith became 4way world champions with DeLand Majik.

It was time for Thiago Gomes to move on. Destination was the home of the South African 4way world champions in DeLand, Florida.

Sebastian Tempest, Teiwaz and SDC Rhythm XP were his stops on the way to the dream slot with Arizona Airspeed. He has finally arrived where he always wanted to be, except that the last step is still to come.

Arizona Airspeed is the defending 4way world champion, and Thiago Gomes is one of the two new members who have to defend the title next year.

The World Meet 2014 in Prostejov will be his third world meet for the third nation: Brazil - South Africa - USA.

The Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship 2013 brought him back to the starting point in his international 4way career and his first national team from Brazil.

Pedro Ushizima is still the same weekend competitor with Anima, while Thiago Gomes is a 4way pro aiming for gold medals next year. Both had a good time talking about the good old days - in Portuguese...
