Did You Know...

... that the Klapka family flies in three different Czech teams?

CZ Ladies in competition action
posted Nov 16th, 2013 - The Sun Path Products NSL News posted the last update from the Czech Republic on 2 November 2013. The story explained the new "Czech 4way Team Project" and introduced the female lineup of the Ladies In Black, who will represent the Czech Republic next year at the World Championship of Formation Skydiving in Prostejov.

The team name has changed to CZ Ladies in the meantime, and it took only a few weeks until the Czech Ladies posted their first scores.

Jan Klapka launched the indoor winter season of the Czech Republic at the Sportflight Skydive Arena in Prague last week, and the CZ Ladies competed in the AAA Class.

Eleven teams attended the first indoor meet, and the Bad Boyz set a new attendance record after competing at nine meets this year, with two more indoor events to come.

Indoor team training with Steve Hamilton
The Bad Boyz did not only set new standards of participation at 4way competitions. The Czech 4way champion of 2013 also improved the team's performance level significantly with an 18.4 average at the end of the 10-round meet. The highest Bad Boyz average was 14.1 so far.

Jan Klapka said that the training camp with Steve Hamilton right before the indoor competition helped all teams a lot to get better, and the Bad Boyz are just one example.

Bad Boyz, CZ Ladies, Best of Relative, Impact and Prilnave Kombosky spent three days with Steve Hamilton prior to the competition.

Jan Klapka said that this camp brought a new impulse to his Czech 4way community, and the first results are showing.

Awards after the indoor competition at the Skydive Arena
Several Czech teams have moved up to a new competition class with the beginning of the indoor winter season. Hvezdy made this move earlier for this year's outdoor season after competing in the AA Class until April 2013, and some members of the CZ Ladies train and compete in the AAA Class for the first time.

Accord went from AAA back down to the AA Class competition with the new lineup. The team had to replace Hana Opalkova and Milka Vankova who both have joined the CZ Ladies. Soft4way went the other direction after a very successful year in the A Class.

Impact and Kamerun both moved from the Rookie Class to the A Class, which is now the most competitive category in the Czech Republic. Impact surprisingly won the team's first meet in the higher category. Hoofs came back in the Rookie Class on a significantly higher performance level, while new team Drop-ky begins in the busy A Class.

Jan Klapka's personal schedule is becoming busier, too. His wife Jirina Klapkova trained and competed with Relative Team in 2012 and 2013, while he has been a Bad Boyz member for many years.

More Klapka family members have now joined 4way competition in the Czech Republic and keep him even busier. His daughter Klara Sotonova is a member of the new A Class team Drop–ky.

She was skydiving until she became a mother seven years ago and is now back in 4way competition. Her brother Jakub Klapka started jumping this summer and is in the same team, together with two other skydivers on a lower experience level.

Father Jan Klapka was happy with the first 7.8 average and enjoys the aerial family activities. He had only one concern: "It is becoming expensive too..."
