posted Aug 2nd, 2009 - The NSL News just covered the Pro Team from Finland after winning the national championship for the first time over the Tigers. One week later, the same team is already back in the NSL News coverage, this time after winning the national championship of Sweden.

The NSL News also mentioned earlier that the Swedish Nationals would not be the qualification event for the World Meet 2010 any longer, as the Swedish federation had already sanctioned Evolution as the national team for next year.

The Pro Team still made the trip to Sweden to collect additional competition experience. Of course, the participation was on a guest team status, and it was not the first time that a team from Finland competed in Sweden. It was not even the first time that a team from Finland won the Swedish Nationals.

In fact, it was a copy of last year's situation where the Tigers from Finland won Sweden's national championship by one point (16.2 - 16.1) over Evolution. The Pro Team competed in Gryttjom 2008, too, and ended up in 5th place with a 14.8 average.

The Tigers had already tried to win the Swedish Nationals in 2007 but could not get past the Swedish teams 42 and Spaï. The Tigers came back a year later and then succeeded over Evolution, an international pickup team and Blue Spirits. Evolution turned the table at the World Meet 2008 and won over the Tigers in Maubeuge by three points.

Evolution scored significantly lower (14.6) at this year's national championship, lower compared to last year's scores and meets earlier this year. The Pro Team did not even have to work too hard to win the meet in Sweden. Laura Miettinen (Tail), Kimmo Pohjola (Center Outside), Outi Pohjola (Point) and Eija Suvala (Center Inside), with Mikko Kajala on camera, copied the meet average of their own championship almost exactly (15.9 - 15.8) and won by 12 points over Evolution after ten rounds.

Chief Judge Zeljko Tanaskovic reported that the logistics were very challenging for all teams and the management. The competition was planned to be held in Gryttjom, but heavy rain damaged the runway severely just a few days before the start of the event.

The Swedish federation reacted quickly and moved the event to a different location at the very last moment. Zeljko Tanaskovic said that the problems with runway and jump plane did not hold back the event organizer to run the competition smoothly. The weather then cooperated, and the meet was completed in three days.

Evolution and Pro Team are both their countries' national teams throughout the World Meet 2010 in Russia, and they will have several opportunities to challenge each other again. The next one is coming up soon. Both teams will compete at the FAI World Cup 2009, which will feature another unofficial Scandinavian championship. All four teams (Norway - Nexus, Denmark - Voluntas, Sweden - Evolution, Finland - Pro Team) will probably compete at a similar scoring level and give each other an exciting competition in the Czech Republic.
