Did You Know...

... that Germany's 4-way champions are facing the same difficult decision?

8-way winners of 2009
posted Aug 9th, 2009 - Russia and the Netherlands have still been battling with the weather. The Russian teams completed all ten rounds of the 4-way competition but have been on standby after only one round in 8-way.

Germany and the United Kingdom did not have any problems with the weather and completed their events. A few scores are still missing on the UK leaderboard where Satori finished the meet with a new team record 20.7 average. It might even be the highest meet average ever at UK national championships, including the XL scores. It was only a matter of time when the British 4-way powerhouse would produce a new world class team.

Germany wrapped up the national championships with a clear victory of the EADS 8-way lineup. EADS competed with the same lineup that scored a 16.3 average at the World Meet 2008 in Maubeuge. Henning Stumpp once again replaced EADS 4-way member Jens Goennemann in 8-way who lives and works in Australia and only visited for the EADS 4-way reunion.

EADS at the World Meet 2008
The EADS lineup finished with a 14.6 average after ten rounds and very little training this year. It was more than enough to win the 8-way championship by 42 points over seven other German 8-way teams.

The silver medals went to the pickup combination of X-Ray Remscheid and Incognito Leutkirch who scored a 10.4 average.

The five FSC Eisenach-Paratec members, Markus Bastuck, Dieter Schwarz, Dr. Jörn Thiele, Max Thiele, Alexander Hau (Camera), have now won two gold medals at the German Nationals for the second time. They will once again be faced with the difficult decision of what to do at next year's World Championship of Formation Skydiving in Russia.

Difficult decision: 4-way or 8-sway or both?
The Eisenach members competed in both events last year in France and ended up with a mediocre 4-way performance, while the EADS 8-way lineup battled with Italy for the bronze medals and lost by 12 points after seven rounds. It will be the same difficult decision to be made for the 2010 season.

The Dutch teams are back in action and seem to have a chance to complete the meet today.

A few A Class and Rookie Class scores are still missing for a complete leaderboard of the UK Nationals 2009.
