Did You Know...

... that JaNette Lefkowitz was coaching SDMW NEXT and is back in the active lineup for the 6th DIPC?

Megan George with a Skydive Midwest team at an MWSL meet in 2013
posted Jan 17th, 2021 - The NSL News introduced the new lineup of Skydive Midwest NEXT in September last year. Newest member Gorka Amian had joined the lineup, after Lauren and Elliott Byrd became a part of the team's comeback at the beginning of the 2020 season.

Original member Megan George had launched the team project in 2015 when she and her husband decided to join the Midwest Skydiving League. Requirement for becoming a part of the league and hosting MWSL events at their skydiving center was a home team that participates in the MWSL meets.

Megan George explained that they put teams together in 2013 for a starting point. Two years later, Skydive Midwest NEXT grew out of the efforts to put their skydiving center on the 4-way landscape in the United States.

Megan George's home team has won AA/Intermediate Class gold medals at the USPA Nationals 2015 after attending three MWSL meets that year and followed up with two MWSL meets and AAA/Advanced Class USPA gold a year later. Skydive Midwest has been a part of the Midwest Skydiving League ever since, even at the time when SDMW NEXT took a 2-year break.

NSL Live Talk with JaNette and Steve Lefkowitz - Skydive Midwest NEXT training at Skydive Sebastian

SDC Rhythm XP founders JaNette and Steve Lefkowitz have been managing the Midwest Skydiving League for several years and work closely together with Megan George and her skydiving center.

SDC Rhythm XP has the team's winter home at Skydive Sebastian in Florida, where Skydive Chicago's jump planes keep flying through the winter months in the north.

SDC Rhythm XP as a team is currently on a break due to corona virus safety measures after an infection in the team environment.

Only JaNette and Steve Lefkowitz were visiting Skydive Sebastian on the day last week when the NSL News had an appointment with Skydive Midwest NEXT.

In fact, JaNette Lefkowitz was coaching the team throughout the 3-day camp and almost 30 training jumps. It was the team's first trip to Florida for a winter training camp, and SDC Rhythm XP's second headquarters in Sebastian matched easily with the team plans.

The new NSL-TV Unfiltered video clip features the team going through the training procedures of their back-to-back series. The NSL Live Talk interview took place before the training day was over. The Cessna Caravan actually pulled into the boarding area, and the team had to abandon the conversation and run to catch the plan for the next training jump.

JaNette and Steve Lefkowitz were not in the same hurry as the team, even though they were jumping, too. The weather was perfect, and they decided to make a few jumps, one also as a Lefkowitz 2-way.

JaNette Lefkowitz has to get ready for her next performance in the active lineup. Christy Frikken is not available for the trip to Dubai in February, where the host plans to resume the Dubai International Parachute Championships (DIPC). JaNette Lefkowitz takes back her slot in the driver's seat (inside center) for the competition, which she had when Rhythm won the USPA Nationals 2019.

FAI/ISC has already sanctioned the 6th DIPC, while the decisions for other events in the near future were discussed this weekend online. The NSL News will soon follow up with the relevant information.
