... that Piteraq needed a new team record average to fend off Skynamite?

Mixed-gender lineup in 2016: Skynamite
posted Apr 26th, 2022 - The NSL News has covered the German 4-way Women indoor duel between Piteraq and Skynamite since both teams were facing each other for the first time at the German Indoor Nationals 2019.

Skynamite is the longest standing 4-way Women team in Germany, with Yasmin Schütte as one of the earliest team members. Skynamite appeared twice on AA Class leaderboards in 2012 and 2013 before the mixed-gender lineup of 2015 (Yasmin Schütte, Sandra Dederichs, Christian Margardt, Oliver Wagner, Thorsten Jung on camera, alternate Janina Jungen) entered the AAA Class competition.

The 2017 lineup (Yasmin Schütte, Sandra Dederichs, Carola Fietz, Janine Tillenburg, Thorsten Jung on camera) eventually became a 4-way Women team and qualified as the national team in this category for the FAI Outdoor World Meet 2018 in Australia.

Skynamite's new 2019 lineup (Yasmin Schütte, Sandra Dederichs, Janine Tillenburg, Sylvia Schlaphof) then represented Germany at the FAI Indoor World Meet 2019, as well, while Piteraq had meanwhile entered the 4-way Women world in the team's first year.

First 4-way Women lineup in 2017: Skynamite
Skynamite kept the upper hand in 2019 and 2020, before the corona virus crisis interfered heavily with all team training and competition plans. After the long break, Germany's national indoor coach Thomas Spielvogel scheduled a qualification duel between Skynamite and Piteraq, as the NSL News reported on February 15th.

Both teams had different lineups, which was Thomas Spielvogel's main reason for a new evaluation of the teams' current performance level. Piteraq won this qualification duel by 22 points and earned the slot as the national team in 4-way Women at the FAI Indoor World Cup 2022 and the embedded European Indoor Championship.

Both teams were facing each other three times with the same lineups this year, beginning in January at the qualification event. Piteraq defended the top position in this 4-way Women duel twice, while Skynamite reduced the distance, first from 22 points in January to eight points in March.

The significantly closer positioning at the German Indoor Nationals 2022 moved Skynamite into striking position at the FAI Indoor World Cup, as the NSL News reported on March 21st.

FAI bronze medals for Piteraq at the indoor world cup
Skynamite were ready to make the next move and challenge Piteraq for the FAI bronze medals in Charleroi. They finished with a new team record average, with coach Roy Janssen at the competition site for the complete and comprehensive support.

Skynamite got another point closer (7) to Piteraq and the 3rd place, and it was still not enough. Piteraq posted their own new team record average at the right time and won the world cup bronze medals in 4-way Women, plus the additional set of bronze medals in the European Indoor Championship.

Piteraq members Linda Koeb and Petra Jastram are now switching to outdoor training and competition with Germany's 4-way Women outdoor champions of Meltemi Illertissen. Their Piteraq team mate Susa Serra was also in the Meltemi lineup who won the 4-way Women outdoor qualification at the German Outdoor Nationals 2021.

The NSL News reported on 12 December 2021 that former AtomiX member Andrea Kleinschmidt will replace her at this year's outdoor world meet in October. Linda Koeb will be the only German competitor at the world meet with double-duties in 4-way and 8-way.
