Did You Know...

... that Dutch and Czech teams share the 4-way passion?

HF Flying Circus - Out Of The Blue outdoors since 2017
posted Nov 30th, 2022 - The special relationship between the national 4-way teams from the Netherlands (Out Of The Blue) and the Czech Republic (HF Flying Circus) caught the attention of the NSL News several years ago. The update on 6 July 2019 pointed out that the same two teams shared an outdoor leaderboard for the first time, after attending four indoor events together since November 2017.

HF Flying Circus had won all of them, including the FAI Indoor World Championship 2019 at Weembi Lille, with close finishing positions most of the times. It has been the reverse situation at outdoor events where the Dutch team has had the upper hand since 2017.

OOTB and Flying Circus continued with their special indoor and outdoor consistency when they met again this year after the long 3-year break, first at the FAI Indoor World Cup in April, then again at the FAI Outdoor World Championship in October. HF Flying Circus won the same duel at Airspace Charleroi, and Out Of The Blue finished ahead at Skydive Arizona.

The pattern now came to an end with the results of the ISR Grand Prix. OOTB finished in the top spot of the AAA Class leaderboard, and Flying Circus ended up three points behind in 2nd place.

It was the third time that HF Flying Circus made the trip from the Czech Republic to the Netherlands for the same event. They had won by four points in 2017 (21.1 - 20.6) and in 2018 (22.8 - 22.3) after the eight rounds that the teams in Roosendaal perform on the same day.

This year's ISR Grand Prix had the closest finish between the same two teams with the 3-point difference. They also scored the highest averages (24.1 - 23.8) that they had previously posted at this specific event and finished in the highest positions on the AAA Class leaderboard.

Out Of The Blue happened to reverse the results of the indoor duel with HF Flying Circus at the perfect occasion, in the top spot of the AAA Class leaderboard with a total of 21 teams, and on home turf.

The AAA Class leaderboard is showing that the Czech team had to fend off another Dutch team (Chaotic Motion VIXX) and Falco from Belgium, as well, who were pushing from behind with their own team record averages and shared some of the highscores.

4-way participation of teams from the Netherlands at FAI World Championships of Formation Skydiving since 1985

The ISR Grand Prix had once again been one of the many events on the busy Czech meet schedule. The competition in Roosendaal was the fourth for the Dutch team since they met HF Flying Circus last time at the indoor world cup in Belgium. The Czech team completed their 7th meet in the same time frame.

Both teams had to travel across the Atlantic Ocean to represent their respective countries at the FAI Outdoor World Championship in Eloy. HF Flying Circus squeezed in the monthly competition of the Czech Tunnel League before traveling to OOTB's home turf in the Netherlands. The NSL News reported yesterday that team member Martina Vavackova was also in Poland for this year's Flyspot Open.

The Dutch 4-way teams share the passion for 4-way competition with the Czech teams. The records are showing that the Netherlands is one of the few countries that have never missed a FAI World Championship of Formation Skydiving in the history of the sport since 1985, including the compromised FAI Tanay Mondial. HF Flying Circus will be ready to take back the top position in this special duel. They have plans for the next indoor world championship in Slovakia 2023, where they hope to meet their Dutch 4-way friends again for a re-match...
