posted Dec 16th, 2022 - The national 4-way teams of the Czech Republic (HF Flying Circus) and Finland (Pro Team) met each other for the first and only time at the FAI Indoor World Meet 2019 and battled for the last Top 10 spot on the 4-way Open Class leaderboard through all ten rounds.

Both teams went tied in 10th place going into the last round, and HF Flying Circus won the internal tie-breaker by one point, after a penalty for Finland's Pro Team. HF Flying Circus then confirmed the world's Top 10 indoor position with the 6th place at the FAI Indoor World Cup 2022.

Finland's Pro Team did not compete at Airspace Charleroi this year. However, the new lineup of Finland's new national indoor 4-way team, with three members of the Pro Team, have made plans for the next indoor world championship in Slovakia next April, which will feature a re-match of the Czech-Finland duel when they meet again and for the second time.

HF Flying Circus will be back with the same lineup in Slovakia, even though Jakub Klapka had to call in sick for last week's December meet of the Czech Tunnel League. He has plenty of time to recover for the coming meets, and former Bad Boys member Vaclav Prokes was helping out this week. HF Flying Circus will travel to Slovakia with the same lineup of the last eight years.

The lineup situation will be very different for the team from Finland. The NSL News reported regularly how the Pro Team developed their family lineup, first with parents Outi and Kimmo Pohjola, when their son Kalle was an adolescent and packed their parachutes.

Finally, he joined his parents and the team at indoor events when he was a young teenager. He continued with his father Kimmo when mother Outi Pohjola left the team.

The Pro Team lineup with Kimmo and Kalle Pohjola, Emilia Sormunen and Eija Suvala eventually ended up on the highest Pro Team scoring and performance level in the team history.

It was the same lineup that battled with HF Flying Circus for the 10th place at the indoor world championship of 2019. In the meantime, and until the re-match in Slovakia, the lineup of the Pro Team has changed significantly, and Finland's national team will have a new name, too.

Kalle Pohjola did not return from the corona virus break. He competed all the way through the 2019 season with the Pro Team, including the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2019 at Skydive Arizona. He concluded his last meet with a 26.1 indoor average at the November meet of the Finnish Tunnel League League, as the NSL News reported on 6 December 2019.

The Pro Team came back from the corona virus break in October 2021 with new member Matthew Iles, who had been one of the Pro Team challengers in Finland with Blue Steel, together with Just4Fun. The new Pro Team lineup was already back to a 24+ average level with Matthew Iles, which they confirmed twice at meets of the Finnish Tunnel League in Helsinki.

However, the next change in the lineup came when Pro Team founder Kimmo Pohjola stepped back after the March meet this year. His long-time team mates Emilia Sormunen and Eija Suvala decided to continue with Matthew Iles, and they had to fill the open slot.

It was the next former Pro Team challenger who was glad to join the new team. Tribe was another indoor team of the Finnish Tunnel League on a 20+ scoring and performance level, and Nadja Lönnroth had been training and competing with the team for two years.

Nadja Lonnroth is one of the most experienced 4-way competitors in Finland. She competed for Finland with the Tigers at the FAI Outdoor World Championship 2008 and continued with U.S. teams after her time with the Tigers, then back in Finland with Tribe. The new lineup will travel to Slovakia with a new team name and no member of the Pohjola family. Only Emilia Sormunen and Eija Suvala will have the re-match with HF Flying Circus.
