Did You Know...

... that four Dutch teams combined for the first two places in the A Class?

Murphy Mania at the ISR Grand Prix 2010
posted Dec 9th, 2010 - Last not least, the A Class competition at the ISR Grand Prix 2010 had a dominating team, just as much as the AAA Class teams had to watch NMP-PCH Hayabusa do their professional business and as Creeps walked away with the 1st place in the AA Class.

It was also no surprise that the Dutch team Murphy Mania would take the 1st place in this category. Murphy Mania was the strongest A Class team throughout the 2010 outdoor season in the Netherlands and peaked at the ESL Championship 2010.

It was not the complete Murphy Mania lineup that competed at the indoor competition in Roosendaal. However, the tunnel lineup was at least more experienced, as two Murphy Mania members (Edwin van Gent, Robin van Liphuizen) joined forces with Tom Verhoeven and Sandra Kleijn of AAA Class team Ignition.

Original Murphy Mania 2010 lineup
Ignition had won the AAA Class silver medals at the Dutch Nationals 2010 with a 13.0 average after ten rounds and placed 3rd for the Netherlands at the ESL Championship 2010. Murphy Mania attended a total of five meets in the A Class this year before competing at the tunnel meet.

It became even easier for the Murphy Mania lineup in Roosendaal when the A Class competition draw did not include any blocks. In fact, the dive pool was actually the one of the traditional Rookie Class with only 16 random formations.

The 23.0 average after seven rounds was higher than Creeps' winning average in the AA Class (21.3) which was not a surprise under these cirumstances. However, the Murphy Mania/Ignition combination surely enjoyed posting higher numbers on the scoreboard than ever before.

Mach 4 at the ESL Championship 2010
There was another combination of members from two teams. Meo and Mach 4 combined for MachMeo and placed 2nd behind Murphy Mania in the A Class competition.

This combination was naturally not as powerful as the Murhphy Mania lineup. Meo competed in the real A Class this year, while Mach 4 attended three meets in the Rookie Class, including the 1st place at the ESL Championship 2010.

The A Class competition draw at the ISR Grand Prix 2010 fit well for the MachMeo combination, and the 16.7 indoor average reflects somehow both teams' outdoor scoring level this year. It was not enough though to keep up with the more experienced Murphy Mania/Ignition combination.
