posted Jan 14th, 2011 - Round 8 has been completed at the Dubai Championship 2011, and the teams have witnessed the live judging. Arizona Airspeed's Andy Delk does not think that his team pulled it out this time:

"Just landed from round 8. We had a slow start with a rough first block 8. The rest of the jump went fairly well. We needed an exceptional jump to pull from behind so I don't think much will have changed on the leader board but we'll have to see what the judges think."

It was the last competition jump for Arizona Airspeed with Eliana Rodriguez, Craig Girard and Andy Delk, and they also had a few farewell words for the audience with so many Airspeed fans: "Well I guess that ends this chapter of Arizona Airspeed. From the old team to the new team, we wish you the best of luck and trust you will carry on the tradition as we know you are capable. Arizona needs new swords..."

Hayabusa and France after landing from Round 8
New French national coach Jeremie Rollett, who was a part of the Airspeed - France drama at the World Meet in Maubeuge 2008 and in Menzelinsk 2010, was the first on-line observer who expressed his appreciation for the outstanding role that this Airspeed lineup has played in the past four years: "Congratulations for this amazing career unequalled! Proud to have shared competitions with you."

In the meantime, Belgium is celebrating the first victory in a major meet with all top teams in the competition. NMP-PCH Hayabusa won the gold medals at the World Cup 2007 in Russia and beat the French team for the first time. However, there was no US team in Stupino, and Airspeed won the World Meet 2008 in Maubeuge.

The celebration is on in Dubai, and the NSL News is not expecting too many updates from Dubai from here on... However, the NSL News will follow up with more information later today. Thank you, Airspeed, and congratulations to Hayabusa.
