posted Apr 5th, 2011 - The NSL News will still follow up on the World Challenge 2011 for quite a while since there are a lot of footage and topics that could not be used and covered during the event. It is challenging enough to keep up with the progression of the actual event when 63 teams complete ten rounds in two days.

The judging videos are now available, thanks to CamScore, and it will be most interesting to compare the two different views with each other. The NSL-TV camera captured the competition action from eye level in the flying chamber, while the judges are viewing the flying sessions from the videographer's angle.

This time, the NSL News attention turns again to teams and competitors from Ireland, and the two videos feature a lively NSL Talk conversation with Joey Jones and the three Irish teams and each team's first three rounds of the competition. The NSL-TV was only filming live the Top 10 teams during the meet. CamScore now provides the judging videos of all teams, and the teams from Ireland are launching this series of NSL-TV videos.

The NSL News has introduced the Irish AAA Class team Fast Air comprehensively with earlier stories before and after the participation at the Shamrock Showdown 2011. The Fast Air members said that they were much happier with their performance at the World Challenge compared to the outdoor meet in DeLand.

Fast Air had finished with an 11.7 average at the Shamrock and posted a 16.6 average at Bodyflight Bedford. The Irish team defeated only Teiwaz Eagle in DeLand and left 13 teams from seven different nations behind at the World Challenge, including Bodyflight Atlas from Denmark who had won by a point in DeLand.

It was a tough and exciting race that Fast Air was a part of in Bedford. Three teams from three different nations were only one single point behind Fast Air after Round 10, and Atlas was only three points behind. It is no surprise that the Irish team was happy with the World Challenge performance. Fast Air is already planning for the Shamrock Showdown and World Challenge combination in 2012.

There was no team from Ireland in the AA Class competition, but then it got even better for the delegation from the green island in the A Class. The NSL News had introduced the Irish team Kinetix with the preview story on 28 March 2011. Kinetix was obviously more than ready for the team's first live competition that they were very much looking forward to.

Kinetix had to put up with four teams from the United Kingdom in this category and left them all behind. This was not due to the UK teams not performing well. Enigma Block Party (13.9) Lockstock (13.4) and Incognito (12.8) all did well. The 15.4 average posted by Kinetix was simply out of reach.

It is well worth reviewing the Kinetix videos. The Irish A Class team was probably one of the cleanest teams on the whole leaderboard, not only in the A Class where no other team was spotless on the scoresheets. The performance in the flying chamber looks just like the scoresheet, extremely clean and technically well advanced. Coach John McIver, Satori's player coach and former XL member, can be happy with the results of his work with the team. By the way, the new Satori lineup did very well, too. More of that later...
